Staron® is a sophisticated blend of natural materials and thermosetting acrylic polymers which has been safely developed for use in the home.

Staron is a solid surface, this means the surface colour runs right the way through the thickness of the material, so that cut outs, drainer grooves and edge profiles can be formed seamlessly. Separate sections of Staron can be brought together with invisible joints, which also remain 100% waterproof, perfect for daily kitchen activities such as cooking and washing up. Staron has won many awards for being an easily cleaned and hygienically safe surface on which to prepare food.

Staron® surfaces are strong and durable, but in the rare event of a serious impact, all is not lost. One of the finest features is its reparability. Surfaces which have been deeply scratched or stained can be brought back to life by sanding. Significant damage can be cut away and a piece of replacement surfacing fused into place, with imperceptible seaming.

Thermo-plastic formability means applications are limitless: it can be heat formed to fit into narrow spaces or sculpted into dramatic curves and exciting shapes. And of course the shapes and curves are completely seamless! No loss of structure or any other physical properties are compromised by this thermoforming process and the resultant shapes and curves are completely stable after the process is complete.

Staron®’s unique translucent qualities when backlit can create an eye-catching focal point and help you make your kitchen stand out from the rest.

How about personalising your worktop by placing an image within the surface? Create truly unique colours and designs through the technique of sublimation? A high temperature printing process whereby special dyes permeate the surface of the worktop. Unlike other surface printing methods, the resulting design is embedded into the surface and therefore retains its colour and can be sanded or polished depending on surface texture requirements.

Staron® worktops are chemically inert and is a completely safe surface. It is easy to clean and 100% non-porous, so harmful germs are prevented from being absorbed within the surface. Also, because the worktops have smooth imperceptible seams, there are no unsightly joints for dangerous bacteria to develop. Staron® is certified NSF-51 food-safe, which makes it a perfect surface for food preparation.

Maintaining Staron® solid surfaces could not be easier. Whether in the kitchen or bathroom, the stain resistant durability of Staron® means that a damp cloth and mild detergent is all that is needed to deal with everyday spills and to keep your surfaces looking great. Because Staron® is 100% waterproof, harmful germs cannot be absorbed into the surface. And because it has smooth invisible seams, there are no joint gaps for dangerous bacteria to develop.

Staron® surfaces are tough, but in the unlikely event your surfaces become damaged, and offer the peace of mind that it can be easily restored to look as good as the day it was first installed.

If you should cut or scratch the surface of your worktop, it is recommended that you call in the company who installed it for you. However, it is possible to do the work yourself by sanding it out with a sand paper. Which grade you use will depend on the finish of the surface. Staron worktops come in matt, semi-gloss and high gloss. The matt finishes should be sanded using a circular motion and 180 grit fine sandpaper. Semi-gloss and high gloss finishes need 400 grit sandpaper.

When the cut or scratch has been sanded out, in the case of the matt finish you simply finish off with soap and water and a green Scotch Brite pad. Semi-gloss requires a non-abrasive cleaner and a white Scotch Brite pad, while the high gloss finish needs buffing with a polishing compound and a low speed polisher using a wool pad. It should then be finished with a wax polish to restore the high sheen.
